As of right now we are at 9% of our funding goal for my Kinky Coloring Book project on Kickstarter. So no-one has to get hurt (for now).

Going out to shop for food. First I buy veggies and then later today I plan on acting like one.
I spent the week at Clockwork Alchemy / Fanima conventions in San Jose. The second day I was there I decided to do a little art project to and shot as many interesting characters holding my Kinky Coloring Book as I can. I’ll be posting them up as the week ages on.
Basia is the only person I took a picture yesterday holding the book that was actually in it.
Well I finally pulled the trigger and launched the Kickstarter project for my Kinky Coloring Book. This is the flyer I’ve produced to help get the word out. Click on the link below if you wish to check it out (and maybe pledge money to it). Thanks to all my friends here for your support on this so far. Together we can make this book a reality.

After I’ve taped, wrapped in foam and placed her in a cardboard box, I’m taking Raven to the UPS store to be shipped to the Seattle Erotic Art Festival (or at least the framed artwork I made of her.) I feel like a parent sending their kid to summer camp. You know they’ll do fine but you are still a bit nervous to see them go.

Since June 2011, I’ve been renting studio time out of Mariah Carle’s studio out of Oakland to do the photography part of Nakedcomix. A experienced Boudoir photographer in her own right, Mariah has been a big, BIG help in setting up the lighting and working with the models. The success in my shoot with Chelsea and Raven (when this image was taken) was due to a large part from Mariah’s knowledge how to properly light latex. I hate to think how I would have had to struggled through this shoot without her. I strongly recommend you check out her stuff at Oakland Boudoir Photography. Just click on the image above to get there.
The Raven-Go-Round image (that I posted here on March 3rd) has been accepted in to this years Seattle Erotic Art Festival. Ya for me and big thanks for Raven for posing for it.
The following day, I attended a workshop about preventing gender violence, facilitated by Katz. There, he posed a question to all of the men in the room: “Men, what things do you do to protect yourself from being raped or sexually assaulted?”
Not one man, including myself, could quickly answer the question. Finally, one man raised his hand and said, “Nothing.” Then Katz asked the women, “What things do you do to protect yourself from being raped or sexually assaulted?” Nearly all of the women in the room raised their hand. One by one, each woman testified:
“I don’t make eye contact with men when I walk down the street,” said one.
“I don’t put my drink down at parties,” said another.
“I use the buddy system when I go to parties.”
“I cross the street when I see a group of guys walking in my direction.”
“I use my keys as a potential weapon.”
The women went on for several minutes, until their side of the blackboard was completely filled with responses. The men’s side of the blackboard was blank. I was stunned. I had never heard a group of women say these things before. I thought about all of the women in my life — including my mother, sister and girlfriend — and realized that I had a lot to learn about gender.

Yep, I do have a lot to learn about gender but at least I’m teachable.
